Eco is collaborating with CSIRO to develop cyanide alternative technology in processing minerals containing gold.

About pilot program/a game changer

Current problem for gold producers:

  • $40m entry level for CIL/ CIP plant with use of cyanide – out of the reach for most small-medium goldminers
  • Toll treatment can run the risks of ore availability and loss of control
  • Environmental start-up compliance
  • Mining rehabilitation costs

World market

Huge potential in major gold producing countries – South Africa & China & USA

Cyanide banned in many places including Montana- Colorado- Wisconsin-Turkey- Argentina- parts of EU. China expected to follow.

More than 10 years and ~$20m investment by CSIRO in developing thiosulphate based technologies for gold recovery

System may apply to minerals other than gold – eg silver, copper
